On Friday, I celebrated my two-year anniversary as a resume writer. I sometimes still can't believe "resume writer" is a real job, but am so thankful it is. I love writing about other people, and, I have to say, I'm exceptionally good at it.
So I guess it's kind of poetic (or something) that on Saturday, I sat down to write my own bio as a class assignment, and it was.not.easy. There's probably all sorts of psychology behind the ability to write about others but not yourself, and if I figure that out, I'll let you know. But for now, here's this.
Erin Gorman is a master’s student in Digital Social Media at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication. After earning her B.A. in Communication, also from USC Annenberg, in 2009, Erin worked for The Music Center, where she managed the center’s social media, website, and other online content. She spent the next few years as an LA cliché, holding positions in public relations and fashion. Erin currently hones her writing and editing skills as a resume writer for an outplacement company (and is open to freelance resume-writing work, just saying.)
Fascinated by the power of online communities to inspire social progress, Erin plans to use her digital social media skills to develop engaging, informative, and actionable content supporting the mission of a for-purpose organization. She’s especially passionate about arts education and empowering women in business.
Outside of school and work, Erin plays in a dodgeball league, sells handmade greeting cards, and enjoys exploring her new neighborhood, downtown Los Angeles.
